Capricorns are the upholders of tradition and are concerned with the public welfare. They are stable, confident, independent, strong-willed, conservative, hardworking, shrewd, cautious, serious, responsible, patient, persistent, protective and tend to worry. They are reliable workers who can excel in business as they are resourceful, determined and have high ambitions. Their way is to be methodical, stubborn, unemotional and unyielding but to their credit, they know how to get the job done.

A strong respect for authority, self-discipline and a sense of fairness accompany Capricorn’s code of honesty and moral conduct. This zodiac sign respects and values tradition more than modernization. They are reserved in action as well as emotion and humor. They must guard against pessimism, depression and despondency.

Capricorns are profound thinkers and like to explore all possibilities intellectually. Their insatiable desire for knowledge and their ability to remember details will take them far in business. They have a rational, logical and clearly concentrated mind and they love to spar conversationally. Capricorns would do well in professions that deal with math, money and even music. They would be good economists, bankers, speculators, contractors, bureaucrats, scientists, engineers, farmers and builders. Those possessing a talent and wit may even become entertainers.

When it comes to relationships, Capricorns are uncomfortable, wary and cautious around strangers and mere acquaintances. They can appear self-centered and unfeeling to all except good friends and family who understand their reticence and are the objects of Capricorn’s prevailing loyalty.

The Sagittarius-Capricorn Cusp birthdays of December 19 to December 25 lend an extra talent for sensing the future. These Capricorns are the initiators of projects and innovators of ideas. They are efficient, decisive, fiery, impulsive, and need to learn to balance these attributes. They are deep thinkers of weighty issues; they know the power of silence. Sagittarius-Capricorn cusp people need to open up socially and guard against mood swings and impatience.

Birthdays falling between December 26 and January 2 add authority to the leadership qualities that these Capricorns possess. They lay down the law, assert their power and stick to their decisions even if they are wrong. They explore thoroughly all knowledge of their limited interests. They dislike and are intolerant of frauds, injustice and sentiment (which they see as weakness). Though they can be rebels when their younger, they become conservative and respect tradition as they age.

Capricorns born between January 3 and January 9 always seem to have things their way. They will push their abilities and talents to the limit to achieve their goals. These Capricorns are hard workers who are attracted to money and power. They are challenging, ambitious, determined and make themselves visible. On the other hand, they are also idealists who deal in practicality and they need to recognize their limitations and allow for vulnerability.

These Capricorns, if born between January 10 and January 16, have a dominant personality, are direct, and desire power or to lead. They are aggressive, stable, perseverant, and over achievers. They are the hero battling a giant when it comes to their ambitions and goals. These Capricorns need to guard against isolating themselves in their pursuit of material success. They need to take more chances and be flexible.

The Ruling Planet of Capricorn is Saturn – The Teacher

Saturn is the 'teacher' planet and through its influence, we learn. Sometimes this can be a difficult process. But remember, the planets represent circumstances or options. The individual makes the choices. Saturn people can be melancholy and have depressed spirits, doubts and suspicions, fears and worries. They must resist even the slightest tendencies to give in. Saturn people have strength of purpose and determination. Their skepticism leads to shrewd insight of things and people. Saturn people should assist in laying plans of a constructive nature for the future.

Positive Saturn Traits: Stability, self- discipline, patience, endurance, humility, thriftiness, conventional.
Negative Saturn Traits: Misery, narrow-minded, selfish, fearful, pessimistic, rigid.

The Element of Capricorn is Earth
Passive, feminine, solid, materialization, physical, stable, secure, confining, achievement, dependability, abundance, slow moving and grounded.

Earth represents the physical. It is associated with productivity, fertility, growth and regeneration. A person born under the influence of Earth is someone who is instinctively driven by a need to plan and strategize and who will not change their decision on a course of action. Often misunderstood and underestimated by others but who is resourceful even when they are most afraid, and compelled to take action. They are the warriors and hunters, challengers to injustice. Earth signs require participation and need to interact with others, otherwise their planning and strategizing natures are unfulfilled.
