The Wolf – Wolf is the ancestor of dog. It is muscular, has a broad chest, pointed ears, keen sense of smell, hunts alone or in packs, and is monogamous. Wolf symbolizes the teacher or pathfinder to high places. It is a wild spirit in the most positive sense. Wolf People respond to love, gentleness, kindness, compassion and consideration. They are sensitive, intuitive, compassionate, innovative, creative, benevolent, generous, artistic, warm, sympathetic, understanding, empathetic, genuine, trusting and sensitive (sometimes overly so). Wolf People need clearly defined rules and space in the home as well as at work and in relationships. They don’t like intrusions without invitation. They can discern intuitively the emotions, attitudes and intentions of others but have difficulty handling their own emotions and feel vulnerable if they allow their emotions freedom. Wolf People must learn to communicate better through empowering their verbal communication with body language and vice versa. They are hunters of philosophy, religion, spirituality and the meaning of life. Wolf People are optimistic, positive, practical, and have a love of beauty and nature. They can recognize undertones and body signals of others, and must trust their own intuition and their psychic abilities and insight. Messages, signs and information will come through dreams, their subconscious and inner self. Wolf People need to bring forth that knowledge in order to teach others. These totem people are innovative, creative, easy-going and enjoy the company of the pack but also like to be alone. They are leaders and teachers who need freedom, whether it is the freedom of thought, expression, movement and/or choices. Wolf People get their way by being charming, loving and smiling. They need attention, reassurance and encouragement. They enjoy affection and romance but can also be passionate. Wolves are also affected by others’ emotions and worries and often take these emotions onto themselves. They search for proof of or to communicate with the after life. Wolves need to find their balance between earthly and spiritual matters. They must cultivate their intuition, creativity, understanding and expression. They must avoid timidity, indolence, and procrastination. Wolf’s main lesson in life is to find, understand and nurture love of oneself and others, to release their inner talents. Season of the Wolf – Winter. Winter is the season of rebirth and new beginnings and renewal. It is a time of love, healing, sharing, and creativity. Buffalo teaches sustenance with sharing, to share gifts of energy with others, and that true happiness comes with sharing what one is and has. Buffalo asks you to use your heart as well as your head and that through the diligence of effort and prayer we can manifest anything. You need to allow things to happen in their own time and way, use effort but not force, follow the natural rhythm. Polarity Totem Animal – Brown Bear. Wolf needs to find the balance of Brown Bear’s physical realities (to be more down to earth) and its own spiritual aspirations. Frog brings the lessons of adaptability, flexibility and the need for new experiences. Frog people enjoy material and earthy things but also want to explore the intangible parts of life.
